The Challenge
Online fashion asked customers to buy garments they could not see on themselves, which produced low purchase confidence and high returns from fit and appearance mismatch. Existing answers sat in fragments — visualisation in one place, styling in another, checkout somewhere else — so the journey broke at each handoff.
Garments judged from photos on other people.
Fit and appearance wrong once it arrived.
Visualisation, styling and checkout in separate places.
No view of how pieces were styled or abandoned.
Approach & Solution
smartData built the platform around a 3D avatar users customise for size, tone and colouring, rendered live in the browser. Garments authored in 3D are visualised on that avatar in real time, and a conversational styling assistant recommends outfits against what the user has tried, saved and browsed.
A digital wardrobe stores styled looks with snapshot capture, and headless commerce integration carries the user from a saved look into checkout and order tracking without a handoff. A designer dashboard covers garment upload, metadata and engagement analytics on the same data.

Final Outcome
Customers see garments on an avatar built to their own proportions, get styling that learns from what they have tried, and buy inside the same experience — with digital sampling replacing part of the physical waste the category depends on.
