The Challenge
People managing long-term conditions take readings at home, and that data then goes nowhere. A meter shows a number; whether it means anything depends on context the device does not capture. Written logbooks are inconsistently kept, and bringing meaningful history to an appointment is largely impossible.
A number with no meal or trend attached.
Records kept inconsistently and hard to interpret.
No usable history to bring to a clinician.
Measurements forgotten without a prompt.
Approach & Solution
smartData built the app to connect over Bluetooth to meters across multiple manufacturers, so readings transfer rather than being typed in. Readings are labelled pre-meal, post-meal or untagged at the moment of capture, which is what makes a value interpretable later rather than just recorded.
Graphical reporting turns accumulated readings into a visible trend, recommendations respond to what has been recorded, and records export to spreadsheet or PDF for an appointment. Reminders prompt readings, and the app syncs data captured offline once connectivity returns.
Key Features
Readings transferred from meters, not retyped.
Pre-meal and post-meal labels at capture.
Accumulated readings shown as a visible pattern.

Final Outcome
Readings arrive with the context that makes them interpretable, people see their own trend rather than isolated numbers, and an appointment starts from a complete exported history instead of a partly-kept logbook.
